Yes, this is a virus. Microsoft never sends out this kind
of warning. Use only Microsoft update on the web.

I am not MS, but if you received this by e-mail instead of a Windows Update
I would be extremely suspicious. There is also no responding e-mail address.
If any doubts don't install!
Your the nut that holds the keyboard.

I received this as well today. I have sent an image of
the message to them. Does anyone know how this is
supposed to handled?

Hi,

Microsoft *NEVER* distributes software via email. The mail which you
received is not from Microsoft, though the from address says so.

Please go through: Microsoft Policies on Software Distribution:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/technet/security/policy/swdist.asp

NOTE: If you receive an e-mail that claims to contain software from
Microsoft, do not run the attachment. The safest course of action is to
delete the mail altogether. If you would like to take additional action,
report the e-mail to the sender's Internet Service Provider. Most ISPs
provide an "abuse" userid for this purpose.

Hi,
Do not install, just delete. MS doesn't send updates,
you have to go get them, using windows update.

I my hijack your webrowser or worse. DELETE ASAP.
Do you have an updated anti virus?

Just delete the message it's a virus.
Create a message rule. send these to your deleted folders with a red color.
Then you can delete.

the message to them. Does anyone know how this is
supposed to handled?
