Hi,
I have Vista Ultimate on my computer and want to D/L SP2 for a friend that has only 256 MB of RAM.
Her computer is VERY SLOW so I want to put it on a CD/DVD so I can install it for her.
Is that possible?
Thanks.

Download full SP2 - http://tinyurl.com/5bobl

And give your friend these links to read *before* she installs SP2:

Vista does not any 'official' service packs yet. I believe SP1 will be
released soon.

If Vista is running slow, you may want to check for viruses, spyware etc.

Sorry I wasn't complete in my question.
I want SP2 Windows XP for a friend.I am the one that has Vista!

Thank you, I am going to D/L it now and will also copy the check lists you gave me.

Stupid me, I forgot to ask!
Will I be able to just run this from the CD on her computer or do I have to copy it to her HD?

Hi,
I got them all except the one above. It said: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
Is there another link cause I know that site gives very good info?

Have a good day,
RScotti

remove "nospam" in order to email me.

That link works for me in IE6 and FF2, but ...

Try cutting #sp2 from the end of the link. In other words,
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_s.htm
Then either scroll down the page or find "sp2"

If that doesn't work, try http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm
then select "S" and again scroll or find.

Google "XP SP2 IT". the first two links will show you exactly where do
download it.

In addition to downloading it and burning to CD, you may be able to update
her install CD with Autostreamer, so that subsequent installs and repair
installs don't require the SP2 install.

Hi,
She has a recovery partition so I can't do that.
I just want to know if I can run the SP2 from the CD or do I have to copy it to her HD?

Yes. SP2 is available for download from MS. Search
the MS site for it, or go to the download/catalog
areas. It's there. It's called SP2c now, but that's
not relevant - it's the exact same download. They
renamed it to get more serial numbers for computers
related. I'll work just fine AFAIK but if there's a
choice take whatever applies to you.
