Hello Dean:

Please see: <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292607>

Please check the following XP Pro features list:

* Remote Desktop
* Off-line Files and Folders
* Encrypting File System
* Granular Access Control
* Ability to join a Windows NT or Windows 2000 domain
* Support for Group Policy and Roaming Profiles
* Software Installation and Maintenance
* Installation using Remote Installation Services (RIS)
* Multi-language support
* Multiprocessor support
* Multiple Monitors support
* Dynamic disks
* Upgrade from Windows NT/Windows 2000
* Advanced networking support

Unless there's something within XP Pro that is critical to you, an
upgrade is probably not necessary.

If you are looking for a legal change/upgrade from Home to Pro at some
fractional cost of an XP Pro retail CD, it does not exist.

Firstly - apologies for the double post. I got an error the first time :/

I do need Pro I belive I need to join to a SBS 2008 domain.

Thanks to all for their replies.

I hope this won't be a double post :(

Firstly my apologies for double posting (the first time) - I get an error
when trying to submit the post saying it was not received.

I belive I need Pro as I am looking at joing some machines with XP Home to a
SBS 2008 Domain. Is that correct?

Once again thanks (and maybe thanks again :/) for everyone's replies.

Yes.

This isn't a forum; it's a newsgroup. The reason you're having such
problems is that you are using the awful web interface to read this
newsgroup--it's the slowest, clunkiest, most error-prone method of
using the newsgroups there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a
newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows XP, or
Windows Mail, which comes with Vista. See
