I posted this a few days ago with no response. I didn't think it would be
that tough:

"I have a single user home computer running XP Home. I finally got it set
up
not to ask me to "Chose User Account" (since I am the only one) on boot-up.
However whenever the computer goes into the hibernation or standby mode it
still asks me to "Chose User Account". Again, there can only be one choice,
me. How do I get it to stop asking & turn directly on?

Thanks in advance... Bob"

Keeping my fingers crossed for a solution.

It actually may be harder for this site than you think because I bet 90%
here are using Pro and do not know anything about Home. I do not mean this
as a put down, but just a fact.

Hope you do get an answer though because I don't have it.

Bob

How in the world did you come up with that conclusion? And how do you know
it is a fact?

i don't know if this is it but have you unchecked the
ask for password when waking from standby or hibernation.
right click on the desktop , properties, screen saver,
uncheck 'on resume display welcome screen' and i think
there is one more but i'm not sure.

Control Panel - Power Options Propertie
Advance Tab UnCheck Prompt for password

Yes I am using Pro, but that by no way means that I do not know anything
about Home. In fact, I know quite a bit.

It is very possible that is because you may have the "ASP.NET Machine
Account" that is installed when the .NET patches/software are installed.
The account can be disabled if need be and you are not using any of its
features.

Probably in BIOS or Security settings -- Prompt for password when wake from
Standby (or similar).

Go to Power Options, and on the Advanced page uncheck 'Prompt for
password when computer resumes from Standby'
