Is there anyway to....

delete everything on a flash drive? Here's what's going on. I have a
non-descript 8GB flash drive, and I had some executable files, picture,
music, PDF, and word documents on it. Everything was going well, until I
downloaded a compatibility pack (from Microsoft) so Microsoft Word 2000,
could read Microsoft Word 2007 on my *Vista* laptop. This morning I put my
flash drive in my Vista laptop, and all of a sudden, I couldn't read any of
my Word documents...I couldn't even open them. (they had different
extensions and it asked me what program to use to open them...Microsoft Word
didn't work!) So I uninstalled Office 2000 and re-installed it. Voila,
success! I guess the compatibility pack was deleted when I uninstalled it.
Meanwhile I put the flash drive in my desktop running *XP*. Now the folder I
had my .exe in (install files) is empty...and what *was* 80 MB in my picture
file folder is now 665MB...my PDF folder that had 12MB now has 165MB! And
all the files are...I don't see the symbol for a square...but that's what
most of them are...i.e....( )Xsquare ) But each time I try to delete
any
folder OR the files in that folder I get Cannot delete square w square: The
filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. What are they
talking about??? Oh yeah...all other flash drives work in both computers.

Have your consider "formatting" the flash drive? You can format flash
drives just like regular drives.

Worked like a charm! Thank you. You know I feel rather silly not thinking of
that myself:)
