is there ANY freeware or non freeware that can colorize file names?

In XP you can define Blue for ntfs compressed and green for Encrypted
files...

However I would just like to mark some files amoung a long list of files
with a color,
so I can find them with a glimpse later on.
And I dont want to make them compressed just so they can become blue...

So is there anything out there that can give me colors?

thanks

Hehe, that's a good question. I'm not sure if such an app exists but there certainly should be. Perhaps some kind of skinning app
can do it… You could also try looking for a shell alternative which is the most likely solution, even though it's not really what
you're looking for.

For the record, you can select the color for compressed and encrypted files, blue and green are just the default—of course that
doesn't really help (although, if it's just a few files in a long list…) :(

Since you mention shelling applications: 4NT can do this, in a
command prompt. http://www.jpsoftware.com (cost $79 when I bought)
