Hi All,

I was wondering if there was another way of taking control of a remote
machine by means of RDP other than having to have a profile with a password?
Is there a possibility of taking control via Internet Explorer with 4
profiles on the home machine?

Any details would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

If you limit yourself to Remote Desktop...
None supported.

Use TeamViewer, UltraVNC, something else. ;-)
(Third party software.)

Hi Shanan,

Hi Shanan, thanks for the reply.

I don't need to limit myself to remote desktop, is there any other way i
would be able to do this?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Since I have a dynamic IP (changes all the time) I use Dyndns.org and
Real VNC. Works great.

"Shenan" <-- See my signature for further clarification. ;-)

Re-read and comprehend the original response - I gave you two options in the
original response.

If you don't understand, still...

Try using something from a third-party (someone other than Microsoft,
something not built-in to the operating system - Windows XP)... A couple of
choices that might be good to look into further:

TeamViewer
http://teamviewer.com/download/index.aspx
(Host for the machine you want to get to, full version for the others,
Personal use I assume.)

UltraVNC
http://www.uvnc.com/
(You'll have to read up on this installation a bit more - if you plan on
accessing things from outside a proivate network.)

Hi Shenan, Terry,

Thanks very much, i will check out the bespoke software you suggested.

Cheers.

Hi Shenan, Terry R,

Just downloaded the UltraVNC newest version. Do you know how this actually
works? Are there any work instructuions on how to use it?

I have installed the .exe file on my remote computer - do i also install it
on my own laptop as a client????

Any help or if you know where the WI's are that would be great.

Regards.

I use a free program called Crossloop uses VNC but with a pretty easy
interface.

Hi Jim,

Cheers for that, what i am finding is that i get a complete black screen
when i use UltraVNC and its also verrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow to connect.

Do you know what the problem could be with the black screen?
