As always backup any important data files (documents, photos, music,
etc.),
before using such a tool as there is always a small chance that something
can go wrong.
Better still backup (Image backup) your entire C: partition to an external
drive
or a second internal drive.
You can use Acronis True Image (Free trial version) to do this.

For backup and restoration (etc) also, I'd recommend Acronis True Image.
It's probably wisest to have both - and use the simplest tool for the
appropriate job.
Question related to this thread.
Just been reading in a magazine article about MS Virtual PC 2007 which
apparently can run a second OS without partitioning. It states that it only
works with XP Pro and not Home but there are other commercial virtual pc
apps which will work with any OS.
Does anyone use this, is it a viable alternative to partitioning and does it
work as described?
