Is there a simpler way to activate Task manager, than search, or control alt
delete? An icon on the desktop would be nice? - Thanks IM

What about just right-clicking on the task bar, the thing with all the
running programs listed on the bottom of the screen?
A menu comes up and Task Manager is one of the items.

You can also create a link to %SystemRoot%\System32\TaskMgr.exe onto your
Start Menu somwhere, and click that anytime you want.

Create a shortcut to it on the Quick Launch bar or on the desktop. From
start, type task manager. Right click on it's entry at the top of the start
menu and click on Add to Quick Launch, or just drag it to the desktop to
create a shortcut on the desktop.

To have it open elevated so you can see all processes from all users, and
kill processes, right click the shortcut, be it on the desktop or on the
Quick Launch bar, choose Properties | Shortcut Tab - Advanced button. Put a
check mark in Run as administrator.

Now when you open TM from that shortcut it will ask to be elevated (if you
have UAC on).

I'd been trying to remember that one. So thanks from me too!

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

When I type in "Task Manager" into the search box, it doesn't display
it in the list. Is there another way to find it? Thanks

If you just want to open the task manager window the quickest way
is to right-click on the taskbar and select it from the popup menu.
