Hello, I just installed 2- 1024MB sticks in my PC and in control
pannel, system its saying I have 1gb total. both sticks work because i moved
around and kept checking and its reading the same and my slots work too and I
had the company pick out what i needed for my PC by the specs i sent them. My
question is, is there a setting in XP I have to adjust to allow for these
ect. im new at this but installing the mem is easy. Thanks in advance

You should be able to see installed memory in start/control panel/system
under the general tab.

Most BIOS POST (Power On Self-Test) will display memory count.
However, on many OEMs (Dell, Gateway, HP) you have to turn off
the company splash that overlays the normal POST messaging. Usually
the BIOS count and Windows will track together, but if BIOS can't
see the full memory neither will XP.
