Is there a "mark as junk mail" feature in Outlook 2003?

I was using Outlook 2003 on another computer and noticed on the context menu
for the inbox listing of messages that you get when you right click on a
message header there was a menu item called "mark as junk mail" which added
the email address to the blocked senders list and also moved the email
message to the "junk mail" folder. This feature operated like the "mark not
as junk mail" feature, but for junk mail in the inbox.

I have been unable to get this feature in my own copy of Outlook 2003. Does
anyone know how you either activate this feature or do you have to get a
third party product?

Norton Anti-Spam adds this, as does the freeware add-in
http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/ but Outlook doesn't come with it.

Right click on the email and choose 'add to blocked sender's list' and it
will go to junk mail folder. Check your junk settings to make sure it's
turned on. The computer you saw that "mark as junk' was not using OL2003. It
must have been an older version.

Brian,

Thank you so much for a quick reply....you're a big help.

Why can't you do this:

1) Select an email you want marked as "Junk"
2) Right-click on it
3) Choose "Junk E-mail" from the popup menu
3) Choose "Add sender to Blocked Sender's List"

The sender's address will be added to the "Blocked Sender's list", the
email will be marked as "Junk E-mail", and it will be sent to the
"Junk Mail" folder.

I never said you couldn't. That doesn't mark the original message as junk,
though, it merely tags the sender's address as a blocked sender. Change the
address and the original message would get through again. Outlook's junk
mail filter is bayesian in nature and it _should_ have a way to train the
filter over time, but it doesn't. The add-ins I mentioned do.

I think I have a closely related issue...I want to be able to right click on
emails in my inbox, but I can't. When I attempt to right click, I get an
hour glass for a split second and then nothing. What can I do to "activate"
my right click in my inbox, it works fine everywhere else.

Have you tried running Detect and Repair? Restarting Windows?
