Hi !
I've been using a Desktop with a mouse (with Back). When I'm in
Windows Explorer, I can click the back button and get back to the
previous location in Windows Explorer. But when I'm using a Laptop
without mouse, I can't achieve the same unless I move the mouse
pointer to the Back on Windows Explorer which I find a bit cumbersome.
So I would like to know if there is a Back to the previous folder
key on the keyboard ? Thanks.

On my laptop the BackSpace key will get me back to the previous folder.

So how do I enable mine to do the same ? I've checked my desktop
keyboard... Backspace also goes UP !

What exactly do you mean with "Backspace goes up"?

It goes up to the folder 1 level higher instead of going to the
previous folder.

Try [alt]+[left-arrow]

OK, pressing BackSpace on my laptop "up" invokes the "up" function (which in
most cases is the same as the "previous folder" option). I'll check later on
what I get on a desktop.

Thanks Al, it works. I can also use Alt-Right to go forward ! Very
nice.
Thanks Pegasus.

In Windows Explorer:

Backspace key takes you to the next higher (parent) folder.

ALT+LeftArrow is the same as the "Back" button,
and returns you to the "Previous" folder view.
ALT+RightArrow is the same as "Next" button.
(Same as Internet Explorer and Html Help. :)

You're welcome. --Richard

It goes up to the folder 1 level higher instead of going to the
previous folder.
