Start, run, CMD.....when I enter Ping, Ipconfig etc it comes back saying
"ping is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program
or batch file"

Any ideas please ?

Check your path environment variable. The Windows directory and the
Windows\System32 directory needs to be there to run the system exe's.
