Is my MS AntiSpyware REALLY active?

David

I installed Trend Micro's PC-cillin a couple of weeks ago after a hard
drive reformat and WINXP reinstall (thanks to a cascade of spyware that
seemed to take on a life of its own).
-
During the PC-cillin setup, it asked me if I wanted to disable the MS
AntiSpyware in order to eliminate redundancy and increase speed. I
thought about it for a moment, and selected YES - DISABLE.
-
Now I want BOTH programs to be active. The MS AntiSpyware target icon
is showing in the notification area of the taskbar and the yellow
tooltip indicates 'ACTIVE.'
-
Yet since I've install PC-cillin I haven't noticed any response from MS
AntiSpyware: no warnings, notifications of threats, etc.
-
Is PC-cillin doing such a wonderful job that MS AntiSpyware doesn't
need to get involved, or is the MS AntiSpyware really INACTIVE in spite
of what the tooltip indicates?
-
Thanks!

You should reinstall MS antispyware. It provides better detection than
Trend with regards to malware.
