Is it possible to save an email in Word format as a coworker says.

A coworker claims that he has been saving emails from others in Word format.
I have looked through Help and some books and I can not find anywhere that
says it is possible to save the message in Word format. TXT, MSG, HTML and
OFT are available but not DOC. Email is set to edit and read messages using
Word. Did I miss something?
 
If s/he has been receiving Rich Text Format messages, it is possible to save
in RTF format. (It is an option in Outlook 2003, your mileage may vary
depending on what version you have.)
