Is it possible to display a messagebox in PowerPoint

Hi , Is it possible to display a message box ,displaying
Slide Number When we move from one slide to another.

I don't think there is a way to do this without VBA. It's not difficult
in VBA, but if you're not already using VBA, then getting started might
be more trouble than it's worth.
