Is IIS available with Win Xp Home Edition ?

Hi!

I recently purchased a Compaq Persario, for my home usage.
It came pre-loaded with Win Xp Home edition.

After installing VS.NET, I found I can't work on ASP.NET
App development as IIS is missing.

I believe, IIS does not come with Win Xp Home edition, but
with Win Xp Professional is it ?

Can anyone suggest how do I go about it ?

Now do I have to purchase Win Xp Prof or is it possible
that I upgrade from Win Xp Home to Win Xp Prof ? How much
will it cost ?

I remember on Win 98 it was possible to develop ASP apps
without IIS, is the same possible in Win Xp Home edition ?

Thanks for any help you provide.
Regards,
Vikas

Hi,

This is correct, IIS is not included with XP Home edition. You can upgrade
XP Home to Pro. 292607 Windows XP Supported Upgrade Paths

Check with your software vendor for a price.
