XP2000+ always shown Adm Duron 1666 with 64k L2 cache.
I tested too with Athlon XP2400+ on two boards and is evrything is
OK.Is Athlon XP2000+ is broken ?
Any help or sugestion is apreciated
Thanks
Have you checked it with some little program like cpuid?
Ive read of cpu brain surgery to change a duron into athlonXP, maybe
one of its legs is broke and doing the opposite.
Good thought, Andy. Hoping he doesn't have that problem--wouldn't
it be a nightmare? But since it id's the 2200 and the 2400, I believe
that shows promise it isn't such a big deal. My 2-cents!!! sdlomi
Um - I dont think the both the boards are at fault, just the CPU -It might
even be a fake?
Sure makes one wonder with both boards, huh?
I wondered a bit...I have bought an XP2000 myself see (bargain before AMD
started locking them) -and its recognised ok on my a7v8x-x, so I consider
the mean occurence of a Mobo develeping this particular fault very low, but
then it wouldnt get mentioned until it happpened, so hearing about one
board is possible, but the odds of just two tested boards both having the
same fault must be vanishingly small... then again, occasionaly, really odd
things can appear to happen...sometimes even do.
Almost like it had a
multiplier of 12.25?! Never heard of such a monster as this cpu. I'd love
to have gotten my hands on it before he exchanged it for the 2200, how 'bout
you? s
Hehe, 600d 9h1LO5oPhiE -yes I like the curiosities too ;D
