is ad aware 6 latest version safe for windowxp?

i use adware 6latest version , it deleted all my spyware it found on my
computer, it also made it where i cant connect to the internet? what is
causing this? i tought ad aware was safe to use?

i read somewhere where there some bad spyware going around that goes on
your winsock, and when ad aware removes the spyware it finds, it removes
winsock which causes u to have no internet connection i ahave dsl..

is that true?

is there a fix?

is adware good to use?
