I am running a pentium 4 2.8 mhz dell with 512mbs ram operating on windows
XP, I recently installed a linksys wireless Network adapter in my computer
and ever since when i right click my desktop I get " Windows Explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." followed by the standard send or dont send, what would cause
this problem? IRQ conflict?how would I fix it?

Sounds more like a driver issue to me, have you checked the manufacturers
website for an update. If your PC was OK before installing the card then go
to device manager, select the linksys driver and uninstall it power down and
remove the card. Reboot and see if the problem has gone away.
XP shares IRQs as required and is good at it unless you have got that much
extra hardware in your PC and there just isn't anyway of to share the IRQ.
You may need to investigate device manager or system information to see what
IRQ usage you have.
