Zach,

I also recently bought a SigmaTel USB IrDA adapter and could not get
it to work with Nokia PC Suite 5.1 with my new Nokia 5100. I found
that the problem for me was that XP (Home) had used the default
settings in Device Manager for the SigmaTel adapter. Once I selected
properties for this adapter and went into the Advanced tab I could see
that it had selected the "Infrared Transceiver Type" as the
"Infineon(Default)". I changed this to SigmaTel 4000 and everything
then worked OK with Nokia PC Suite. I left the default speed as
"4000000(Default)".

I hope that this may help with your problem.
