IR freeze up after it finds page

Lola and Gary

Just yesterday every time I go a new IE page it gets to it as fast as ever
(cable modem) but freezes up just before finishing for about 10-39 seconds,
does it with every page. Mail and other internet programs work just fine,
stumped. My lap works just fine using the wireless so I am out of ideas.
Please help if you can.

Hi,

Scan for malware using ad-aware and spybot.
Try downloading, installing and updating the
spyware removers from the links below. Run both of them.

Ad-aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Spybot S&D
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?lang=en&page=download

If still no joy, then consider reinstalling IE:

Copy and paste the following line to the Start > Run prompt, it will
try to reinstall IE and the routine will need the XP CD.

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %systemroot%\inf\ie.inf

Alternatively, the routine will ask for diverse files, go to a command
prompt (Start > Run > cmd) and type
dir name_of_file_needed /s (Example dir iesinfo5.ins /s)
This will tell you the location of the file, browse to that path and
click retry.
You will have to do this for 5 or 6 files, which can be bothersome.
But it can also be reinstalled without the CD.

Hope this helps
