IPCONFIG returns no results, but computer has IP address?

I've actually manually set up the IP address on my home PC to guarantee
that I'll have the same IP address every time. I'm using a Linksys
Wireless router to provide DHCP and sometimes it decides that it's time
for the PC to get a new IP address whether it needs to or not (another
topic perhaps).

The problem I see is that when I pull up a command window and type
"ipconfig" or "ipconfig /all", I don't see my network settings. I can
connect to the internet just fine and don't seem to have any other
issues, but it strikes me as odd that I don't see anything. I could
have sworn ipconfig is supposed to show the addresses from DHCP as well
as those that are manually set.

Running SP2 Pro.

Any ideas on what I can try?

Thanks.

Are you attempting to run ipconfig?
Run cmd
Then enter ipconfig

I can run the command. The problem is that it doesn't display any of
my adapters or IP addresses, even if I try IPCONFIG /all. Restarting
doesn't seem to help this. My network connections don't appear to be
connected as I can connect to the internet and other local computers
all day long with no issues (unless my ISP has problems). What I'm
trying to figure out is if there's something that is causing IPCONFIG
not to see my IP configuration.

I apologize if I wasn't clear in my original message. I thought that I
had mentioned that I pull up a command window and typed "ipconfig".

What happens if you enter: ipconfig /?
does the help display?
I'm suspecting there's something wrong with the ipconfig.exe file, rather
than something wrong with your network.
You might want to try deleting the ipconfig*.pf file from your
c:\Windows\Prefetch folder and from the C:\Windows\system32\dllcache folder.
My ipconfig.exe file (for Windows XP Pro SP2) is dated 08/04/2004 06:00.
(wow, 2 years to the day). It has 55,808 bytes.
HTH.
