HI,

Not sure how to pose this quiestion so her goes:

Is there a command to type in the command prompt that will return a list of
IP addresses on the network and possibly tell you what the devices are? Or a
program or something?

Hope someone understands what I mean and can help.
Thanks

Two programs I've used for that are Angry IP Scanner and NMapWin. Both
are freeware. Do a google search for them. NMapWin is a port scanner but
it returns a lot more machine specific information than Angry Ip Scanner
does but the IP scanner can scan an entire subnet very quickly - NMapWin
takes a bit longer and it will only do one IP at a time. I use the IP
scanner to get a list of active IPs and then use NMapWin for the details.

Have you tried the switches shown in the Command Prompt: IPCONFIG /?
