ipconfig /release does not release adapter

I get this error when I run Ipconfig /release:

"All adapters bound to DHCP do not have DHCP addresses.
The addresses were automatically configured and no not be
released"

Please help, I have removed and re installed TCP\IP

Hi Drew,

How many adapters do you have in the box? It would appear that you have
more than one and one of them is configured with a static IP address. Does
the DHCP configured NIC release its IP properly?
