dhcp problem?

cant get dynamic ip address assigned - 169.254.209.43 is
assigned automatically, and when I use ipconfig to try to
relesae and renew, I get the message

"All adapters bound to DHCP do not have DHCP addresses.
THe addresses were automatically configured and can not be
released."

I have used my network adaptor on the machine before, but
now it does not work - please advise how to repair,
thanks!!!

Have you tried swapping out the cable?
Are any other computers (presuming you have some) able to get a
DHCP-assigned address from the DHCP server?

its wireless using an orinoco client to a linksys
router/ap - I have 2 IBM thinkpad T20s, one works the
other doesn't

Hello,

Have you logged onto the AP to make sure that it sees the
wireless client and it is associated? Doesn't sound like
you have access to the wireless medium.
