hi, i'm getting the following error and i cannot access the internet.

An internal error occurred: The system cannot find the file specified.
Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for further help.
Additional information: Unable to query host name.
how can i resolve this problem.
using windows xp no service packs installed
repaired several times
reinstalled windows in new directory and internet works fine from there but
i need to repair the current windows due to programs and files stored.
