IP config issue/error message

I'm running w2k with a d-link wireless card and linksys
router. I have both a lan and wireless connection-but no
IP address. When I do a ipconfig /release it comes up with
0.0.0.0 in all, with the /renew command I get the message:
the following error occurred when renewing adapter D-Link
wireless: unexpected network failure or insufficient
access.
any ideas?? Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds like you have encryption turned on at the AP(router) and the
security code is not entered at the client.
