IP-address in XP sp2

After installation of sp2 I cannot get my second PC in my home network on the
internet. PC1 is is connected to the internet and PC2 has connection to the
internet throug PC1. However, the connection from PC2 to PC1 fails: "Could
not renew IP-adress". It seems that PC1 will not supply a IP-address for PC2?

It work prior to installation of sp2, and I have disabled Windows firewall,
as I run Norton Personal Firewall.

Please help me out!

i had similar problem, after some research i found that the installation of
SP2 sometimes corrupts the TCP/IP protocol stack, and there are various tools
to fix it, however i found none of these to be of much use.
I decided to roll back to SP1 on both PCs and rerun the network setup wizard
and i had my network running smooth again.
I have recently installed SP2 on the PC with internet connection and i still
have a fully functional network.

I would suggest to delete your existing network connections and start again
by using the network setup wizard.
