My setup goes something like this--> PC1 is connected to my network, MSHOME,
locally via RJ45 cable, ip address 192.168.15.102. I recently acquired a new
computer, PC2. I would like to connect PC1 and PC2 so that PC2 wil be able
to access the internet and share files/folders with PC1. I have a crossover
cable on hand and a second network card installed in PC1. I tried a
multitude of things last night and scanned the forum here for an answer, but
have come up with no working solution. PC1 is running XP Home and PC2 has XP
PRO. Please help me :)

Enable Internet Connection Sharing on PC1's Internet Connection:

1. Open the Network Connections folder.

2. Right-click the Internet Connection.

3. Click Advanced.

4, Put a check mark in the Internet Connection Sharing box.

5. If there's a box labeled "Home Network Connection", select the
connection to PC2.

Configure the network connection on PC2 to obtain an IP address
automatically.

You can do this with ICS on PC1.

Just adding a note that although Windows XP Firewall works fine with it,
some (many?) free 3rd party firewalls do not support ICS internet sharing
and will block the NAT connection. That will prevent the 2nd computer from
browsing. The retail versions of these firewalls usually do support ICS.
