Real Name

Hi,

Well, they did it again.

This is the third time, this year.
Some SOB, has gifted me with some
sort of hidden(!) background
fileserver.

I JUST CLEANED OUT MY HDD, a
couple of weeks ago, down to 60%, and
today it's 15%. (Again!!!)

My computer is dragging (I'm
running defrag, in the background,
right now.); and has been crashing IE,
and disconnecting constantly.

I began to think, that it was some
sort of memory hitch; but it's pretty
clear, now, that my subscription AV,
and subscription anti-spyware, have
completely let me down.
Dunno, now, what I'm paying for.

suggestions ?

Thanks,
Ken .

Opt for some free versions of various software, uninstall your failed paying
software first..

AVG - Freeware Virus Software (the free version is around their pages
somewhere)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

ZoneAlarm - Freeware Firewall (the free version is around their pages
somewhere)
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp

Lavasoft Adaware - Freeware Spyware searcher (the free versions is around
their pages somewhere)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

Spybot Search and Destroy - Freeware Spyware searcher
http://www.safer-networking.org/

Online free virus scanning - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Hope all or some of that helps somehow..

Regards.
Paul.

Dunno -- You haven't posted any substantiating facts.

Hi,

Maybe ...

Windows XP,
Desktop,
Start,
Control Panel,
Security Center,
Windows Firewall,
Advanced,
XYZ Modem,
Settings,

My computer is (finally)
behaving ...
So-far ...
Maybe ...

Ken .
