I do not remember all the specifics, however, your OE may
*not* have all the updates.
On the View menu, point to Current View, and then select Show Replies to my
Messages. Does this show Ctrl + H next to it??
Also, I have been suffering the last two days from *my* posts disappearing.
I've had to post several posts several times to overcome this problem. I
thought that this may have been some problem on my end. It may not be.
Your problem may be related to mine and there may be nothing you can do.
Outside of posting again. Your post may really *not* be there.

=============
A piece of advice; Double click your AVG icon down by the clock | E-mail
Scanner tab | UNCheck: Check Incoming Messages and Check Outgoing
Messages | Apply | OK
You are still protected with AVG running and you don't need this running.
From Jim Pickering:
Why Email scanning sucks in OE
[[The problem really lies with the extreme fragility of the message store
files (the DBX files) and allowing an external program to "touch" those
files while they are being written to, deleted from or just opened can have
tragic consequences. In early cases with MacAfee, it would literally
destroy a dbx file, wiping out hundreds or thousands of stored messages, and
unfortunately, they were not recoverable.
MacAfee insisted it was not their product, and at one point an executive of
theirs said "they were only aware of 17 cases" worldwide, while in the
microsoft.public newsgroups, we had hundreds and hundreds of users
complaining of lost messages caused by MacAfee. This persisted in spite of
MacAfee's own beta testers warning them of the problem on their own beta
bulletin boards.
Any database file is prone to corruption, and allowing it to be touched by
an external program is not always a wise thing to do. YMMV.]]
FROM Tom Koch: Messages in Inbox or other mail folders disappear

[[...or simply disable both the email and Internet download scan modules in
.... These are not necessary to protect your computer if you still have
VirusScan running in the background and scanning executable files as they
are opened. In fact, the only real reason to use email and download scanning
is to make you feel more secure. If this is the cause of your problem, I am
sorry to say your messages are irretrievably lost.]]
