A client finally started updating their Windows 2000 PCs with SP4 and all
subsequent critical updates. Immediately there after, users get the
INVALID_PROCESS_DETACH_ATTEMPT
0X00000006 (0X00000000, 0X00000000, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)
when ever they attempt to save a file in Word or Excel.

The Microsoft TID : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=833314
states there is a hot fix for this. How do I get the hot fix? Do I need to
pay $99 for an incident?

"2 support requests submitted online or by a phone call are included at
no charge"

Plus in all fairness I've called quite a few times and have never been
charged for a hotfix that the online tech regarded as required.
