Invalid Vista Product Key

I installed Vista Ultimate over XP Media Center Edition las summer. Just last
week I started getting an invalid key message. I have ## days to activate.
When I click on the activate option nothing happens. Each day I get a popup
box that asks for a key so I enter mine directly from the original package.
It tells me the key has already been registered! I know it has, I did it last
summer! On this exact machine with no hardware changes since! Whats going on?
I have a legal key! When I go to the microsoft website it wants me to pay for
tech support! What should I do? Thanks

You can reset your Windows Vista activation by performing the following:

1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in: slui.exe 4

2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

3. Select your Country.

4. Follow the instructions for phone activation.

5. Once completed, restart your computer.

Tired of this crap? Check out Ubuntu at www.ubuntu.com. It's free, can
be installed on as many computers as you like, can be copied and none of
the WPA/WGA nonsense.

That's great. Where should I go NOT to hear at all of Linux? I thought
coming here to the MS territory will be enough. I was wrong.
Choosing phone activation works perfectly if the online thing doesn't work.

Viktor

Glad you like it :)

With its current popularity, that's a difficult task.

Actually, it's both. Vista is terrible and Ubuntu is wonderful.

If you don't mind being accused of being a thief until you prove
otherwise, I guess so. I consider it an insult and a bother.

Trolls are everywhere on Usenet. If you don't want to read their
messages, simply killfile them. That's what I do with Alias and others
of his ilk.

Can you tell me how I can do that? I'm using Windows Mail right now.
Thanks.

I don't use Windows Mail myself, and it's long ago enough that I did
so that I don't remember the details. But it's very easy. I'm sure
someone else here who uses it will tell you how.
