Invalid resource error

Hello

I recently tried to build a formerly working XP embedded image in target
designer, and received about 18 of the following errors.

Error 1004: Invalid resource: "<File(819):"%17%","machine.inf">": (Error
-21447023084 (0x80070714) in "": The index specified does not reference
an existing item in the collection.)

I've searched the XP embedded newsgroups via Google, and checked
everything I could find there, with no success. My component repository
is on a separate MSSQL database server. I can connect to the server and
read tables via Enterprise Manager. I can also browse to the repository
share and view the files. There are a little over 11,000 files in the
share, so that looks good.

I haven't made any changes to my setup that I am aware of. I had no
trouble creating images previously.

This error only occurs for 18 of the components in the project. The
above example refers to file machine.inf. That file does exist in the
repository. I can browse to it using Windows Explorer.

I tried removing the problem componets and re-adding them to the
project. The problem files are listed in properties, with the proper
file size. When I generate the image, the errors occur again, and the
file size for the problem file references show as zero bytes.

Any ideas to help troubleshoot this problem would be appreciated.

Jim,

Are your custom components' repositories in the same location as the
Embedded repositories (under Windows Embedded Data\Repositories folder)?

Yes, all of the components' repositories are in the
\\databaseserver\Repositories\\{long alphanumeric} path.

Do you get any errors when you create a new configuration? Have you
upgraded your tools since last you opened these slx's? Double check your
permissions on your repositories, as well as make sure that Database Manager
s pointing to the correct location where your repositories are (both the
individual repository paths and the repository root)

Do double check the Repository path.Probably it is not able to find
the resource location.

I want to thank Lynda and Kesavan for their help.

I checked permissions to the repository and the path itself. Everything
looked ok.

I haven't upgraded the tools since I made may last image.

I checked the image created with the errors, and found the files had
been copied, even though target designer complained. So, I transferred
the image to my device and started it up. The image seemed to go through
FBA without any problems. The EWF was setup ok, and seems to work fine.

The files causing errors in the target designer show 0 bytes in the
properties window.

This is really strange.
