I have been working on a document all day and saving as I go but when I
closed it and then tried to reopen, I received a message saying the path may
be invalid. I see that the document is there but it will not let me in.
Help!!

I'm going to play mind reader. The file was attached to an email you
received. You opened the file, edited it, and saved it - without looking at
where you were saving it.

Am I close?

No, I saved it on my desktop. And I saved it all day as I worked on it -
unfortunately, not as a different file. I just heard from someone to whom I
sent it that they get a message saying the file might be corrupt.

That's a possibility.

Try File - Open - change the file type to Recover text from any file. Maybe
you can salvage some of the text. No guarantees tho.

I had a friend walk me through going to the file in Word/Open and clicking on
the file but not opening it. Then I clicked on the down arrow on Open in the
dialogue box and changed to "Open and repair" That opened it. Then I was
able to re-save. Thank you for your help.
