I am having problems downloading things from the Internet. This problem only
started recently. I had no problems before. I keep receiving a message saying
"invalid menu handle."

Somebody help me please!!

Could someone please help me with this? It seems to only happen when I try
downloading zip files.

What is the complete message?
Can you give us a specific URL to try?

In addition to Frank's good questions:

1. What is the virus/malware status of the machine? If you think it is
clean, what programs (names and versions) did you use to determine this? Be
sure:

2. The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?

3. How do you connect to the Internet?
4. Does the problem only happen with one browser? One website?

the error message simply states C:/(the location of saved files) and then
says invalid menu handle.

I ran a virus check and it came up clean.
Nothing that I know of has changed since it worked before.
I use Internet Explorer.
And it happens any time I try to download a zip file, no matter the site.

So you are unable to download the zipped files? Or you can download the
files but not open them? Are you using IE 6 and not the beta 7? What
archiver are you using? The built-in XP zip function or a third-party one
like Winzip or WinRAR? Do you have Zone Alarm installed? What happens if
you use a different browser such as Firefox? What happens if you
right-click on the file you want to download and choose "Save As" instead?

Remember, we can't see your computer from here. You have to be exact in your
descriptions and provide enough information to give us a good picture of
your system.

I'm not a computer genius so I don't know how specific I can be lol. But I'll
try to answer the questions u asked.

I can download the files, I just can't open them.
I'm using IE 6 but the error msg says IE 5.
I am using WinZip.
I guess I don't have Zone Alarm installed, because I don't know what that is.
I haven't tried using another browser. As far as I know, IE is all I have.
When I right click the file, the same thing happens. It lets me save it but
I'm unable to open it.

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling Winzip. Reboot after the uninstall.
Report back.
