Invalid Menu Handle

Whenever I try to open an attachment or dowload from my school website, I get
the error C:\location of temp internet files
and
Invalid menu handle
How do I repair this? I have tried doing a registry scan and installing
windows updates. The attachments/downloads are all MS Office files, either
word or excel. Please help me!!

I had a similiar problem opening .jpg picture files and followed advice from
another discussion group which was to go into Control Panel - Folder Options
and associate the file with a photo programme. When I did this I found that
the jpg file type was already associated with the correct programme type but
just to test it I associated with a different photo programme & it worked !
Not sure why as the original programme still seems to work OK for everything
else - worth a try !
