Windows will not allow me to delete a file with the following name "c.divx".
On closer inspection there is 2 unprintable characters in the file
extension. All attempts to delete the file come up with the message "Cannot
delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk."

I even booted with a Win 98 disk and attempted Deltree with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thank You

Try this

To correct this misbehavior in Windows XP, remove the
following registry key.

Goto Start>>Run>>Type "regedit" goto
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-
4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}\InProcServer32] - Delete this key

This will prevent Explorer from loading shmedia.dll in
response to file property queries on these files.
