All my downloads is corrupt,it doesnt matter if its patches for games or
demos. Get error "invalid file, corrupt file, or strange end of file. Only
updates who works is windows update

At least, it is good that Windows Update is not affected ! <eg>

Where exactly are you guiding (saving to) the downlaods to be saved? Delete the old downloads, next time save to a new, unique folder on your HD ---- separate from any Temp folder(s).

Also, delete your temporary internet cache files. Run Cleanmgr (Disk Cleanup).

Download CCleaner (freeware) from http://www.ccleaner.com/
Select the following for removal
Temporary Internet Files
Delete Index.dat files

System- Empty recycle bin
System - Temporary Files
System - Old prefetch data

downloading ccleaner... file corrupt... I am getting crazy here, but thank
you for the answer

Sorry, elraj but I had to laugh at your reply. "downloading ccleaner...
file corrupt... I am getting crazy here, but thank you for the answer"
but I can understand your frustration. Have you tried "system
restore"? At least you won't get "file corrupt" error. ......or WILL
you? :-o

Explain better what you are doing. Normally, it is advised to first "save" downloads to local HD, and later, run the program to install (if it is a program) or open the file (if it is going to be used by an application).

Again, what are you downloading ? What setps have you taken to make sure corruption is minimized?

ok ,now I am trying to patch act of war high treason by going thru the
game. Not working.I have tryed to download and save in 3 different hd and I
have downloaded on my other pc ,burned it to cd and installing that way.
Same answer "corrupt file".I have tryed to download different types files.
They all is corrupt, invalid or strange end of file.I think I have tried it
all.I can install games and program but no upgrades exept microsoft

Sidebar: It's not advisable to be without an antivirus. {at most, you could have temporarily disabled it}.
Once you are squared away, make sure the AV is installed and ON.

Now, to your main issue: You may have bad or marginal RAM, or perhaps, your temp internet files are being messed up. Or something else causing corruption.

Contact the maker / publisher of your game to see what they recommend. Maybe borrow a friend or neighbor's system to try download then copy to CD.

MEMTEST86 is a memory test utility & is free.
See http://www.memtest86.com/

I would recommend you download it from a "reliable" pc --- not this one. And do the setup and the diskette on the good system.
Only then take the diskette to the "problem" pc. And run it to check your pc's RAM.

HTH

Now everything is working fine again. All I had to do was move the
internetcable from nvidia input to marvell ethernet an everything was ok.But
I still not understand why it became corrupt.Never mind I am very glad now
and whish to thank for all the good support you gave me.....
