Internet too slow

I'm having trouble when then internet connects, sent bytes
are far more than received bytes. There also seem to be
lots of errors. Therefore speed is very slow or non
existent. Can anyone help? Moden is NetComm Internal 56k
( IN5692 ) (COM3)
 
There are many reasons why your throughput speed is slow. Traffic at the
time you are connecting, the condition of the line(s) between you and the
servers you are accessing, and many other factors. Make sure you have the
latest drivers for your modem and that you have a good number to dial-up to.
Go to www.dslreports.com to check your actual speed.
