If you've saved a .URL shortcut from an email attachment you may be able to open it Word for editing if you have turned on [x]
Confirm Conversions at Open in Word's
Tools=>Options=>General
and then, when you use File=>Open and asked to confirm the format, switch from 'HTML' to 'plain text'.
If when you try to open the file through file open it open instead in your browser then in File=>Open in Word rename to be sure that
what is displayed is YourShortCut.URL and not just YourShortCut
Even then, Word probably not going to layout the contents to make it easily editable for you if the URL file contains page layout
content.
