Internet sharing > Possible IP Conflict

I have two computers named ATHLON and NOTEBOOK.
ATHLON has 2 NIC Cards named: MYLAN and IN2CABLE.
NOTEBOOK is connected to ATHLON through MYLAN.
IN2CABLE is assigned an IP Address by a DHCP Server.
The IP Address of MYLAN is 192.168.0.1.
IP Address of NOTEBOOK is 192.168.0.2
IN2CABLE is connected to a cable modem.
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)is ENABLED on MYLAN.
A Proxy server runs on ATHLON.
Sometimes I can browse the net from NOTEBOOK ( thanks to proxy server and
ICS ) while sometimes i cannot and i just cant figure out the reason.
However, what I have noticed is that everytime that i can browse the
internet through NOTEBOOK, the IP address of the browser on ATHLON is
192.168.0.1. But when I cannot browse the net on NOTEBOOK, the IP Address on
ATHLON is automatically set to 127.0.0.1

I cannot afford any routers or switches.

sounds like a dns server issue. Basically 127.0.0.1 is
the host "Athlon" dns server ip address. Look at the DNS
server address on the internet gateway and key those on
the remote notebook.

I have had similar arrangement, however I have had ics
enabled on (in your names) in2cable, i.e., the connection
that you share between your two boxes. Then, you do not
need a proxy server.
