Open the Internet Options tool in Control Panel. Click on the
Connections tab. Now click on the LAN button at the lower right. Do you
see anything in the proxy server settings? If so, does it look
familiar? Remove the proxy settings.

Have you recently installed an antivirus or antispam product that may
have set an Internet proxy server?

Perhaps resetting the proxy config will help. Sometimes, even though three
is no proxy configured in Internet Explorer, the actual settingin the
registry still exists (as we have periodically discovered). Check the proxy
setting from the command line using command 'proxycfg' <enter> Change the
setting to 'no proxy configured' using the 'proxycfg -d' command.

Cheers!
