HAd to re-install XP Home after a disk problem. Since then, I am
having constant problems with my broadband connection - but only from
this PC. The other PC on the network is fine. Problems I get are --

Browse to a page fine and then when you try to go to another, cannot
display page message comes up. Refresh a couple of times and normally
it will eventually load the page.

Mail often gives an instant message saying the connection has been
interrupted. After several retries it works fine.

Both PC's are connected via a Linksys router. I have found that going
into the network status and doing a repair will often fix the problem
but I'd really like a long term solution !

TIA

cheers,
Len

Hi Len,

Are both connected via a Ethernet Cable or are you Wireless on one?

Have you reset the Router, which can help?

Both connected the same, ethernet. Tried resetting router but made no
difference. I'm sure I read somewhere that disabling local DNS cache
might help but not sure on that one?

Hi Len,

Have you emptied the Temporary Internet Files thru Internet Options or
Disk Cleanup? Have you checked the settings in Internet Options Advanced
Tab. Compare the Security Protocol Settings between the two browsers.
