internet problem

dont know whats going on,have had computer in 3 times
spent hundreds of dollars same problem keeps coming
back,connect to internet,will say page unavabile not
connected,yet computer and ips show me connected

Please specify.

Which type of connection you have... eg Cable / DSL / Dial Up etc
Which Operating System eg 2000 / XP Home / XP Pro etc
Which Antivirus / Security System / Firewall you use
Are there any other bits of hardware like Switches / Routers etc
Can you think of anything you did that might be connected... eg installed
something, changed something.

In IE try tools>internet options>connections tab>LAN settings button. If the
"Automatically detect settings" box is checked does unchecking it make a
difference? Is there anything in the "Proxy Settings" fields? Make a careful
note of it then uncheck the appropriate box and see what happens. Note you
may have to restore those settings, it's hard to tell without knowing your
system.
