internet pop up insanity

Hello all

Everytime I open up another page in Internet Explorer I
get a pop up, it is usually some ad for a dating site, but
sometimes it is something else. I have cleared out my
cookies, history, installed Ad Aware and Spybot and have
removed everything, but still they returned. I guess I am
what they call Hijacked?

anyway can anyone give me some ideas or program
suggestions to get rid of this without having to re do the
whole machine.

For regular Internet pop-ups, you might try the free 12Ghosts
Popup-killer from http://12ghosts.com/ghosts/popup.htm, Pop-Up Stopper
from http://www.panicware.com/, or the Google Toolbar from
http://toolbar.google.com/, which is what I use.

Thanks for the reply but that is just a work around, I am
looking to fix the hijacked problem first.

you need a good pop-up blocker. I use the msn toolbar

that comes with a blocer. It is free.
