Internet options Programs TAB email

On the programs tab for e-mail I only have 3 choices Microsoft outlook,
outlook express and windows live email. The problem that I'm having is that
when I go to certain websites and they have a link to write them and I click
on it. It opens a new window and using whatever program is set in the
programs tab next to email. I don't use any of those for email. i use Yahoo
Mail. My daughters computer has yahoo as one of the choices or at least hers
go write to yahoo and types in the email address and she's ready to compose.
why won't mine do that? Does anyone have any ideas. I'm so tired of having
to write the email address down and then go to yahoo click compose and then
type in the address. There has to be an easier way. Is there a setting for
this on yahoo or is the internet options area the only place to set this and
how do I get yahoo to show up on the list. I searched for and add-on. I
think I have internet explorer 6 but I can't find anywhere in the properties
that says what version. I bought a HP computer about a year ago so it's
probably IE6.

I *believe* that installing Yahoo Messenger will give you an option to make
Yahoo mail your default Mail Client, Kingfan100. It cannot be done
manually.

Instead of clicking on that link see what right-click, Copy Shortcut
gives you.

It opens a new window and using whatever program is set in the

i use Yahoo Mail.

Is that a separate app or a website?

If it's a separate app you might even be able to avoid copying the
shortcut altogether. E.g. see what happens if you first open the app
and then drag the link to it.

I'm sure there is no need to do that.

There is. Before typing always think about using your ClipBoard. ; )

Good luck
