Internet Options on Tools Menu

When I select Internet Options from the Tools Menu I get a
message "This operation has been cancelled due to
restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact
your system administrator." This is a single computer with
no "administrator". What gives?

H ave you enabled the following options in SpyBot?: [Tip from MVP Mike
Burgess]
"Lock IE control panel against opening from within IE"

If so, this behaviour is normal. If you are not using Spybot, the problem
may be due to a spyware.
Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs. Download a fix from:
http://mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IE_reset_restrictions.reg

Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system and eliminate
the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary. ** Remember to
update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

( Caused by a malware called CoolWebSearch. Also, Download:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip )

More Information: Internet Explorer Control Panel Restrictions:
