Hello,
I have the strangest problem. I use windows XP on an IBM thinkpad, and the
internet has always worked fine. My connection is on a network through a
router.
Suddenly, the internet on one of the XP accounts (my account, incidentally)
stopped working, but it still works on the other account. I can't load
google, hotmail, or anything else, I just get a timeout error. This occurs in
both firefox and internet explorer. However, I can still access my university
webmail and download ftp through filezilla on the problem account.
I did not install any new software at the time it stopped working. I've run
disk cleanup, AdAware, defragment, deleting cookies, and a full virus scan
with McAffey. Nothing came up.
Can anyone offer any advice to restoring the internet on the account?
Thanks,
Julia
